A big thank you to everybody that came along to our Winter Warmers event at Hills & Parkes on Thursday evening.  As always, we have been overwhelmed with the positive response we’ve had to our idea of getting bakers together to share their baking endeavours and are so happy that there was such an amazing turnout again.

Next Event – Tuesday 6 November ‘Winter Warmers’

We are delighted to announce that the next Band of Bakers gathering will be on Tuesday 6th November (7.30pm to 9.30pm) at Hills & Parkes in Honor Oak Park.  Hills & Parkes is a popular local delicatessen and cafe and will be opening exclusively for this event.

The theme for this event will be….

WINTER WARMERS

It’s that time of year when there is a nip in the air, the evenings are drawing in and comfort food is very much the order of the day!  We invite you to concoct the perfect winter warmer – the kind of bake you would reach for to warm your cockles on a cold day, or perhaps share with friends around a bonfire.  Remember, your bake can be sweet or savoury – whatever takes your fancy.

Places for this event will be limited to 20 and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please email bandofbakersse@gmail.com to register and we will send you a confirmation letter and the event info.  If you have any queries please get in touch by emailing us.

Following a much needed summer break we are back for more baking. Our fourth Band of Bakers gathering will be on Thursday 4th October 2012 (7.30pm to 9.30pm) at Franklins in East Dulwich.

The theme for this event will be:

RETRO FAVOURITES

Perhaps you have an old recipe book lurking in the kitchen cupboard, or maybe there is a certain bake that reminds you of the good old days? We invite you to cast your mind back and embrace your kitsch side! Remember, your bake can be sweet or savoury – whatever takes your fancy.

Places for this event will be limited to 25 and will be allocated on a first come first served basis. Please email bandofbakersse@gmail.com to register and we will send you a confirmation letter and the event info. If you have any queries please get in touch by email.

As you may know, it is the time of year that Macmillan Cancer Support seek to raise key funds for their work supporting people in the UK coping with cancer with their World’s Biggest Coffee Morning. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold our own Band of Bakers coffee morning this year, however we will have collection boxes at this event and ask that you make a donation if you are able to do so.
